WTH?!?!?! theres no water again!!! ARGH!!!! this time its unplanned... apparently the water pipe at 'checheng' burst so there is no water supply to our camp now.... when we called about when the water supply is going to be restored, the reply from the water works was 'as soon as possible'... but its a.s.a.p..... taiwan style, which will prob mean we wont hav water tonight and maybe tmr as well.... GRRRRRRRR......
which brings me to a point, with all due respect to taiwanese pple, y must their efficiency and sense of pride in their work be so lacking??????!! i mean really, if this happened in singapore the problem will be solved within hours.... geezzz...
ok, as if this is not bad enough, i had a friend who always treat his friends like servants, asking them to do stuff for him and things like that... well, i was one of the victims at lunch time, which of course made my day every worse... the conversation went like this:
(after i had my lunch, i got up to take some fruits)
kenny: hey help me take oso leh
adrian:ok
(adrian goes and take the bananas, comes back and hands one to kenny)
kenny: eh how come u only take for me one??
adrian: u never tell me how much to take for u mah
kenny: then how come u take two?
adrian: cos i want to eat two bananas.
i mean, WTH, am i ur servant??? how bout a THANKS even?? i hav no obligation to serve u wadsoever, but i will help friends who appreciate my help.... wad ure doing is abusing and using ur friends... which i utterly cannot tolerate....

hmmmm strange that my blogger homepage is in chinese now!! oh no!! does this happen to everyone or just mine??? cos i really hav no idea
bought a new digital cam for my use in taiwan... canon ixis i.......not really cheap, bout the normal price as in singapore.... kinda cool so now i can take pics and send it over or put as my display pic in friendster or somethin.... haha....
now that the guards and some other units are in, the place is bustling again!! YEY!! rather this than the whole unit being all quiet and stuff....

im back from kaohsiung!! wah, its good to see my dad and to be able to go walking around the city.... a change from 1 month of being in a village-like environment... guess the commandos and the atec pple were all there for their R&R as i saw quite a few of them around the shopping centres and the night markets.... interesting sights i must say!!! haha.... oh yeah, but on the first night, we took a cab back to the hotel and it met with an accident... the car behind gave the taxi we were in quite a hard kiss on the back.... but luckily we were fine and the car wasnt damaged too badly...
now that im back, the camp seems very very empty with just the perm staffs around... i know ive been complaining when the training troops were here that we were all very busy... but now with them all going for R&R, and returning to singapore, i kinda miss their presence... i miss being able to interact with the commando pples, the atec, miss hearing the sounds of them playing basketball, shouting and laughing and stuff... basically i miss the hustle and bustle of the place... sure the gaurds are coming, and the atec pple are coming back, but jack (this guy i knew who was with the atec) wont be coming back becos he is going to ORD already.... can clique with this guy quite well becos like me, he has gone to japan a lot of times n basically we spent time talking about japan, where we had been and stuff.... its quite hard to find someone who knows so much about japan as him.... so we were able to hav some interesting talks about our trips in japan... hopefully will be able to keep in contact with him and dunno whether we can go japan together someday... haha... cos he knows some places which i dont and so it should be quite intersting.... hopefully we will be able to keep in contact....
right now the camp is like dead, with no life, no sounds coming from the training troops' bunks and the basketball courts.... sigh....

hmmm.... nowadays running 5k has been more of an enjoyment than a burden... haha strange.... i can even out run my officer now... haha and his fitness test is gold one.... haha.... aiya maybe he's more of a 2.4 runner than a 5k runner lah thats y... but today was the first time i beat him so im kinda encouraged.... yey!!!
tmr will be going to kaoshiung to see my dad.... pity my mum cant come... she fell down and is currently recovering in hospital... shes fine, just hairline cracks in the ankle or somethin.... kinda worry for her, and kinda disappointed that she cant be here tmr... sigh... oh well, at least my dad is coming....

hmmm just a thought that came into my head when i was in the canteen with some 'undesirable' drivers that i didnt knew who were part of the training troops... they acted in quite a 'beng' way and asked about are there any places for 'chickens' here, wad are the rates, if they can choose the girls, are the girls pretty and the list goes on and on and on....
i mean, in the first place, u think u look very handsome izit?? to choose a very chio girl?? take a look at urself lah.... they look like younger versions of ah pehs that u find in coffee shops with bellied and sub-standard etiquettes.... and secondly, can they hav at least a lil bit of self dignity and self worth????

hmm, falling sick, maybe becos i hav been running in cold weather with cold gale winds.... so not having sore throat and coughing... will resting today from running... see how the weather tmr, if comfortable then i'll run again..
well some training troops will be leaving soon for singapore (28th mar).. kinda got to know them through this time that i was with them and i hav to say i can clique with some of them quite well.... will surely miss them when they leave but we already exchanged e-mails so hopefully i will be able to keep in contact with them...
my parents are also coming on the 25th so i will be going to kaoshiung to meet them... haha kinda looking forward to it....

wa lao its not only the camp with no water, but the whole of heng chun town... wad the hell are the water pple doin????!!!! the water should be up and running by 5 this evening!!! having said that, it did made for some very interesting antiques by all of us.... haha running around in towels and everything trying out every water source in the camp... finally found one with running water supplied by the water storage tank above the MTL building... but the only problem is that it was in the clear view of the security camera... ^_^... so the idea was dropped...
then we all took the water from the jerry can meant for typhoons to wash our faces... then we powdered bathed in our bunks... like bmt.... eeeeeee.... then we had no water to brush our teeth as well.... wa lao.... hope the water is up and running by tmr morning cos i still want to run in the evening one leh.... which would make me quite sweaty....

alright.... theres currently NO WATER SUPPLY!!! NO!!! there was suppose to be water works going on from 0800 to 1700 hrs today, which is totally cool with me... but im not sure wad the stupid taiwanese pple are doing now that theres still no water at 8!!! i mean, we are all sticky and dirty now and just waiting for the water to come back on so we can hav a comfortable shower or somethin.... grrr....
oh btw, check out this cool band that performs at wala's every friday night.... they're the reason y i love to go to wala wala!!! www.eic.com.sg

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like Mother of Pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw aman at a desk to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out,"Excuse me, where are we?""This is Heaven, sir," the man answered."Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked."Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The man gestured, and the gate began to open."Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked."I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road which led through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book."Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?""Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.""How about my friend here?" the traveller gestured to the dog."There should be a bowl by the pump." They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.The traveler filled the bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. "What do you call this place?" the traveler asked."This is Heaven," he answered."Well, that's confusing," the traveller said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.""Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope.That's Hell.""Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?""No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

i hav a new craving in taiwan.. bubble tea.... i know, it has already died down in singapore but over here it costs s$1 per cup... and its really delicious!! oh man, if there is a thing that would make my weight loss programme fail, bubble tea would be it... in fact, im drinking one now, and last night too... ^_^ man.... hope i dont gain fats from there... trying very hard for a flat tummy...

hmmm... sometimes i really wonder, y izit that sometimes pple complain that they are loners, but yet they do not even make an effort to know new friends, and being proactive about it?? its like sometimes they reply with one word answers and how is a conversation going to carry on like that??? no wonder they say they hav no friends and that they are loners.... wierd.... i try to make friends with them but it just feels like im talking to the great wall of singapore, only hearing the occasional echos back.... fine, they can be loners for all i care....
yeah, and y izit si difficult to hav a friendship through the internet?? im now in taiwan but seems like making new friends in singapore seems so difficult, like after awhile there seems to be nothin to talk about anymore and it just dies down from there... unlike the friends where u forge ur friendship with in person, there seems to be endless rubbish and laughter in every nonsensical conversation.... haha
got a new e-mail add today, still under hotmail, i will only use this for e-mailing my friends and stuff and so hopefully this one will hav less junk mails and nonsense like that... its tong_shenghao@hotmail.com

well came back from running and gym... wa lao the wind today is like gale force and its damn cold!!! its like my most difficult run to date man.... then i went to gym to train my abs and shoulders... some commandos were there training and they were like machines man!! they do reps on the equipments with full weights!! wa lao i see already oso peng....
anywayz, now im tired lah, hopefully can reach my goal and objective.... good night

alright.... i gotta lose my fats in my tummy.... hav to, if not it'll look like im pregnant.... not that its big, just.... a lil big... so this is my new training programme:::::::
from now on, im not going to hav dinner.... cos u eat and most prob u wont exercise at night... so it will store as fat... then, i will do 20 sit ups and 20 leg raises everyday after i wake up, after lunch, after falling out from work, and before going to bed... everyday i will oso run 4 km from our camp to this village, then run back adn go to the gym to train my abs and my shoulders....
haha today is my 3rd day only and im going strong... hopefully wont lose steam half way lah hor?? then by the time i come back to singapore for my hols around aug or something, i will look good and fit..... wahahahhahaha

hmmm, lying on my bed now with the curtain around my bed all closed properly... so cosy.... haha, well we're experiencing a cold front now, so actually the weather was pretty nice when i first came, around 24 degrees.. but now, becos of the stupid cold front, its now about 5 degrees man, actually i like this weather, but this cold front is going to end soon and summer is slowly coming in....
according to those that hav been here for a long time, summer is actually hotter than singapore so im not really looking forward to it.. but theres a place near my camp called kenting where theres a few nice beaches so i think i'll check out those places during the weekends when the summer is here....
was on MSN and just learn that one of my friend's dad just passed away very suddenly.. i dont really know the details but i just know that it happened in the middle of the night in camp and everyone was sleeping... then the duty officer woke him up and told him... sigh, its so sad.... goes to show how fragile human life really is, we keep thinking that we can do it later, talk to our parents later and stuff but sometimes later just doesnt come.... feeling very sad for him now.... but oh well, just hope that he is taking it fine.....

hmmmm, today finally got my permanent taiwan army uniform.... haha chinese name tag somemore.... oh yeah there will be some troops coming for training this month and their stores are already in camp today!! wa lao its like 4 full cargo containers man, those big ones that u find at our ports... woah, then our camp so small.... so extra man the unit that is coming for training... oh well, ive already been in taiwan one week already.... haha not really fast but not slow either... looking forward for my hols back to singapore around august or sept.... then i can get to meet all my friends in singapore again.... actually, coming to think about it, ive only been out of camp once since im here!! wa lao, hav to go out more often man.... then can see more things, the scenery around the camp is so nice, we're close to the mountains and the sea, very scenic... alrighty, signing out now, will write more when i hv things to complain... haha
