well, today's math exam was tougher than i thought it will be, there are some questions that i dont really know how to do, leaves me no time to check those that i had done... oh well, whats done is done, now its only the biology exam left, which is this coming wednesday, and as usual, i think i need a rest today, have been pretty much studying and working the last week..

hopefully i can do well for this exams, because this will tell me if im able to balance work and studies together... i think i can, but we have to see how we go in this..

we have to think about this, when we're parents, what will our parenting styles be?? to hold them real tight, make sure that they do no wrong when we're alive, and shelter them to make them think that everything in this world is so damn fine and easy? and when we die, we leave them with no life long skills whatsoever?

or do we just guide them? tell them and what is right or wrong, but never restrict them?? they make their own decisions. afterall, falling down is a part of growing up as a person right? falling down is a much more effective and potent lesson than all the nagging and fights can ever achieve. furthermore, our children are not our second chances in life, where we try to make right in them what we did wrong. no, this is wrong. their life is their life. we are just here to guide them.

why do some parents find it so hard to let go? to accept the fact that their children has grown up and they need to spread their wings?? to not be in the shelter anymore and to start their own life and independence?

see, thats why sometimes i feel that westerner's way of bringing up their kids is so much better than asians.. or rather, singaporeans.

for australians, as long as their children are of legal age to work, which can be around 14 to 15, they will have to start earning their money for their own expenses. they will know how hard money is to come by, be more sensible and independant, and also trains them to make important decisions about money on their own (since its their own money)

singaporeans on the other hand, are mostly a bunch of spoilt obnoxious brats... they dont know how hard money is to come by, always using their parent's money, and because of that, spend freely... they tend to be rude to strangers and very arrogant solely due to the fact that their parents have money. maybe thats y ive spoken to a few australians that feel that singapore, even though clean and orderly, there is no sense of social graciousness, politeness, and basic courtesy. sad. very sad. whats even worse is that the parents are partly to blame too, treating their children better than some australians treat their Gods, not correcting their lil brats and worse of all, not letting them go, forcing them to be independant to let them know that they are not lil princes and princesses in this world, that they cant just demand anything and everything will be given to them.

ah letting go. y cant parents do that??? why is it that only asian parents cant let go, even when their son is already 22 and fighting to be set free?? why cant they just see that im independant enough to make decisions for myself, to look after myself?? to stop treating me like a baby and just let me go???

reminds me of the film finding nemo, where marlin cant seem to let go of nemo, and when they turtles said that you just have to let them go, marlin asks 'but how do i know when?', to which the sea turtle replied 'oh they will let you know when'... how true is that statement?

ok... organic chem exam OVER!!!! i think i should be able to pass the unit *keeping fingers very crossed*...

also had my first layer of treatment applied... it was only a mild sting, nothin much, and tmr im going for another layer... hopefully this thing works... *keeping fingers crossed again*

ok, with everything done now, i just need to start saving up money... and study for my next paper which is next sat... calc and matrix... should be alright for that...
